1. Annie is orphaned by her parents who died in a fire, but she does not know that. She has been left with 1/2 of a locket and believes her parents will bring the other half when the come to claim her. Mrs. Hannigan, the orphanage keeper has the other 1/2. In a publicity stunt, the rich Mr. Warbucks agrees to take in an orphan. Annie is chosen. He searches for her parents. Mrs. Hannigan's brother and friend decide to pretend to be her parents to get the cash reward (complete with the locket). The other orphans find out about the plan and try to get to the mansion to warn Mr Warbucks, but get there too late. Annie runs away from Rooster (Mrs. Hannigan's brother) and climbs a tower. Punjab comes in a helicopter to save her. She lives happliy ever after with Daddy Warbucks.

1) This sappy but popular musical features the song "Tomorrow" and it totally saved by its supporting cast of Carol Burnett, Bernadette Peters, and Tim Curry ("Easy" Street is my favourite!) Adapted from the comic strip series, and from the musical, this film is about the misadventure of Pollyanna meets Dennis the Menace little orphan Annie. Um, this is not the Annie I saw, there was no Punjab in Annie and she was not in a tower
