It is just a tradition based on what was available at the time of the first "Thanksgiving" between the Native Americans and the pilgrims before the white man decided to kill all of them that they possibly could, take their homes away from them and put them on reservations, take thier children away from them and give them "christian" names and treat them like little animals and try thier best to wipe them of the face of the earth. But eat whatever makes you happy and forget tradition. It is all about happiness and family and friends. But please remember the red man while you are celebrating

You can do a ton of other stuff for Thanksgiving besides turkey. My family does turkey but you could also do roast beef, ham, or lamb, maybe chicken, but the two are very similar. There are so many side dishes that you could skip the turkey all together. Besides, Thanksgiving isn't about the food at all, but it's about being with people you care about.

I don't eat turkey! People can eat whatever they want. Turkey is just a tradition and people like to follow tradition. Nothing is really wrong with that except the fact they are eating a dead animal.

How about Ham? Or if you're vegan how about some walnut stuffing? Plus there are all those sides to choose from. Thanksgiving is about giving Thanks, not about a Turkey.

Happy Turkey Day. LOL

Have some ham or some chili dogs. God doesn't care what you eat as long as you're thankful for it.

I'm sure that there are some people who eat ham or lamb and be thankful that they can do it.
