I have tried evenflo and gerber stage 1 nipples and bottles but it seem to me that milk is flowing very fast. Also, can i use one company's bottle and other companies nipple or should they be the same.
What about playtex bottles?

The platex bottles are my personal favorite, but I don't recommend the ortho type nipples.

I think either gerber or playtex makes nipples that have different flow speeds like slow flow medium and fast flow, just don't make the mistake I made, make sure you buy the same size nipple, I had playtex and bought a pack of playtex nipples the night I got home from the hospital since I had to run out and buy formula as well. I bought the small nipples and I needed the big nipples, the nipple fell right throughthe bottle opening.

I used nuby bottles, they have replaceable nipples as well, my son just turned 2 last month and still uses them, we haven't broken the bottle habit yet.

I found that the best quality bottles came from Dr. Brown. They worked great for my son, because he needed a slower nipple. Playtex Nursers are ok, but there stage one nipple is really slow. Then there stage two nipple is to fast, plus there quality on there nipples isn't great. I find that I have to buy a lot of nipples with these bottles. Walmart also has a bottle called Parent's Choice which is almost like the Dr. Brown ones, only cheaper.

My baby is now 7 months old. He was spitting up so much that my pediatrician had me put a few tbsp of cereal in each bottle. My baby was fine. He slept better and spit up less! Also 31/2 isn't too young to eat cereal. Most babies start at 4 months. Your baby is almost there! I think of it this way. Every baby is different. You know your baby better than any pediatrician. If I were you, I would do what my gut told me to do. You know whats best for your baby. I have done both. My baby had 2 tbsp of cereal in a 4 oz bottle from 3 weeks until about 6 months. I also fed my son a small amount of cereal on a spoon. Just use alot of formula so it is still a runny consistency. As long as your baby wont have trouble digesting it. (few baby's do. both of mine were fine but it has been known to happen) or wont choke on it (not too thick) they will be fine! Try it once and if it helps them, good! Of the baby gets a little tummy ache or seems fussy after wards, discontinue. Its worth a shot if it might make your baby happier! It sure did mine!! Pediatricians are great, but mom always knows best! Follow your instincts! ;)

I found that playtex drop ins worked great for my son when we were going to the bottle. They have a slow, or fast nipple and he seemed to eat better from them with less gas. (You can always buy the store brand drop ins too. They work just as well.) As far as switching nipples with different company bottles, you really should keep them the same. Most are designed specifically for the company's own bottle and will leak or not work correctly with another. Good luck and I hope this helps.
P. S. I have since switched to the Ventaire bottles and they have greatly helped my son with his gas.

i am all for playtex bottle AND silicone nipples....used them for both my boys and will use them next week when #3 gets here!!! i use the ones with the liners...DROP-INS they are called.... you can rinse out the liner a few times and reuse it, but your not scrubbing bottles everynight. My sister used the platex ones that dont have liners, they have some sort of thing that reduces the air or something.... she hated them!!!! pain to wash, and use!!yes i would reccomend using the samenipples as the company that made the bottles!for example you cant use an AVENT nipple witha playtex bottle!!!

I used Playtex bottles. Make sure that you check the flow on the nipples. You want a slow flow, or a stage one.

I had one of every bottle out there...the best?? Dr. Brown's Bottles. I won't by another kind for my next one due in April. They are wonderful, and are THE best bottles to prevent gas and spit up too. And their "stages" of nipples actually are what they say they are. The downside, they are pricey and they are a PAIN to clean, but worth every cent. Just go get one to try. Then if you love it, get a few more! But i'm sure you will love them!

Hey Robert B....I know you don't have breasts, but have you ever thought some women CAN"T breastfeed??? Go read up on women, boobs, and breastfeeding okay buddy??

i stick with the parent's choice bottles from wal mart. get the earliest stage nipples, and hope for the best. try burping more often and try stirring the formula instead of shaking it to get rid of the foam. good luck :)

I used Dr Brown's they are expensive but worth it. My baby has never spit up ater a bottle and never had gas or ear ache. Each bottle type has believers and haters. Do a trial run with your baby with what's in your budget, but mostly it's user's choice.

Good Luck
