You just really stated the stuff harshly. Some people aren't cut out to be parents. At least you recognize that. I am pregnant right now and terribly worried about losing my pregnancy...so I can't imagine not wanting kids....but I am glad that you are smart enough to know what you want. Just do me a favor....use protection and birth control so that you don't ever have to make a decision on what to do if you do get pregnant. Abortion is not birth control. I wish you the best. I know it is really hard to be a parent...I have a 2 year old. But I would do it again in a heartbeat....that is just who I am. Hate is a strong word too babe....maybe dislike and don't want could cover it. Mandy

I didnt read your original question but if you dont like kids you made the right choice not to have any or to be around them. Kids are not for everyone and unfortuantly too many people think kids will make them happy, or will give them unconditional love or fulfill them in some way and this is just not true. They are a big responsibility, and require attention 24/7.
I have 2 adopted kids that had parents that had kids for the wrong reasons and I am cleaning up that mess. I love my kids more than anything, and they are in the right place now, but you are not being selfish--dont bring them into the world if it is not the right thing for you!

I think it's commendable and honest, not selfish at all.
What is selfish is people who have kids because they think they should or because others tell them they should, and they don't like kids.
I have two kids who I love dearly. But I know that some days kids CAN be hard to like, just like anybody but as a parent, you can't let that stop you from loving them.
So, Good for you for opting not to have kids!
You know yourself better than anyone else. And you know what you do and don't want to do. That's all.
Odds are that question would have gone over better in the Parenting category though...

As the Queen that you are, you are entitled to your opinion. However, in stating your opinion it may be wise to restrain from saying that you ‘hate’ kids. It’s the way you worded your last post that may have some people disagreeing with you so harshly.
Now, as for me, I personally choose not to have any children of my own, although, I love children. That was my plan. However, life has a way of placing detoured routes on the road of living.
Six year ago, I was given custody of two of my nephews (now 8 & 7 and adopted by me). As a single female, I cringed at the thought of raising two boys alone, but I must say that the road of parenthood has turned out to be a blessing.
Life is for sharing and each one of us are destined to deposit positive or negative input into others – the choice is yours.
Be blessed.

Well, for starters................ Hate is a harsh word to use ! If you don't care for kids that's your choice. People should respect your choice. It sounds to me that you have a negative attitude when it comes to kids that's why some individuals judge you in this manner. I personally love kids thats, may choice. I have a sister that sounds just like you. She's is 45. She is always B@#!Hing about how no one spends time or acknowledge her presence................. How can we, if we have our kids with us ? It is hard some times. The holidays are going to be interesting with this one.. Your o.k. but, be nice. Peace to you !

It was because of the fact that you only want to worry about yourself. If you HAD kids, you would not hate them, because something happens to you that makes you change your mind about them. There is a special connection there that cannot be explained. Let's say, for example, if you saw a child in trouble, in your present frame of mind you might not do anything to help. But if it was YOUR child, you'd do whatever you had to to save him. It's just what childbirth does to people. Suddenly there's someone in your life that you would die for.

You're not selfish and don't let them make you think that. I think it would be selfish if you did have kids and then regretted and took it out on them. Kids are not for everyone and that's okay and they need to realize that.

Honey...you live your own life. If you don't like kids then great...don't have any. Don't listen to anyone who says that you are horrible. You are just being you. How could someone fault you for that??????
