I believe both are relevant but personal destiny is the most important.
There're some born poor in a depressed family and without good guidance. But they were born with the characteristic to excel and thus they develop the will to change their life conditions and emerge a successful and rich individuals.
There're also some born rich and with good guidance and education. But they were born to take things for granted and waste every wealth they had until in the end, they ended up a bankrupt.
While we may see that the proper Nature and Nurture will develop a successful person, we still can't deny the power of our destiny that shape our personal character. There're some who must have a hard life deprived of everything in order for him to take personal control and become a winner. There're also some who require a good life to achieve the same result.
And we can get to know our destiny through astrology, particularly the Chinese Purple Star (Tzu Wei) and 8 Pillars (BaZi) as well as Indian and Tibetan Astrology that can pinpoint our life destiny from the past to the future.
What may be considered to be the appropriate good Nature and Nurture to you may not be to another person. And the type of Nature and Nurture that seems good and appropriate to you in the present may not be so in the future.

Philosophy is grand isnt it? This is a good question and there is a lot to the answers that you seek but no one can equate accurately for everyone is an individual and so vastly different in their nature, nuture, and the scientific experiments that have been inflicted upon us. Because the man made scientific world has reshaped mankind immensely. Nature is a very strong part of your being, and the nurturing is natural, making them synonomous really, but science, is a keen image here. Like people that have taken LSD after all the good nature and nurturing and physically altered their cromosomes, then what? Or the fumes we inhale of all sorts in the world that break down our immune system and change our beings, like someone who has a chronic Bronchitis and they are depressed no matter what nurturing they have had in the past. Because wouldnt you be depressed if you played basketball and had to quit the team because of an illness and it wasnt because of your natural being from birth or your mother and father but the outside influences of a handful of Frankensteins running this world and making you at their mercy, with mal-intent for their own personal gains they have altered the theory entirely of that all is nature and nurture. Smog in LA horrible creates emphizema, so this being un-natural and nurturing will provide more in love areas, but wont change the fact that it is an abnormal environment outside of your normal realm. Just trying to shed some light on the subject.

I believe the spiritual realm influences both nature and nurture.
Because of the spiritual learning and growth process that humanity experiences, this is "manifested" both in the genes that create the natural inborn phenomena or traits, and in the physical environment and events that shape our lives.
Since the spiritual force of life can reverse or change the course of both nature and nurture, I would say that level has the ultimate influence. The conditions attributed to nature or nurture can change any time if that is part of the spiritual plan or design.
Note: Since this viewpoint explains both the influences of nature and nurture, but neither factor alone can explain all outcomes consistently, I find that putting spiritual influence first explains or includes all cases, and thus reflects a more universal model.

I gave birth to two children and adopted one. My daughter has things in her that defiantly come from nature which are very different from her nuturing.
When my first son was born my neighbor friend gave birth to a girl. The two of us had many conversations about nature vs nurture. One day my son threw a truck down a flight of stairs. The girl picked it up and nurtured it after it fell. WOW a real life experiment about nature vs nurture.
I believe strongly that there is more nature in us than we realize.
Have you heard the term. ....THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL TOO FAR FROM THE TREE.
Sad but true, perhaps we aren't more then chemical reactions to whatever stimulates us. That doesn't mean that I don't believe in our ability to change or choose. It just means that we can be slaves to our nature or we can take what we can from our nurturing and become better than we are programed to be.

Nature depends on Nurture and Nurture in turn depends on Nature. In fact both are interdependent. If you don't have the nature of adopting to the nurture, nurture can't mend your nature. Even if you have the nature but there is no proper nurture, you would be some thing else.

This philosophical thought , if it is, indicates the teacher and the taught ( student) relationship. From the simplest to the most complicated , the nature reveals us everything . As a teacher would . A keen student will learn and nurture the knowledge.
Even if we say ( or mean) it is one`s own nature actually we mean is that person is made that way , naturally.
These two always go together.

In my opinion, both are equally important.
There are some things that cannot be changed easily, even with much nurture. For example, our genes. Let's say we were born with black eyes. We can put on eye-colour changing contacts to make it azure, but compared to someone who's a natural, we have to put in more effort.
On the other side, if someone was born with high intelligence and just lazes around all day, never uses the powerful brain, this person cannot compete with low-intelligence someone who works out (literally) the average brain everyday, every minute with crosswords, questions and stimulation.
If I were forced to pick one, I would have to choose nurture. It is more flexible.

People develop into who they are based on BOTH genetic and environmental components. Now which one has more influence than the other is hard to quantify. Obviously genetics provides us with evolutionarily advantageous blueprints (opposable thumbs, higher reasoning capacity, social tendencies). But the reason that we, as a species, have been so successful is due to our ability to adapt and learn from our environment, experience, as well as our desire to pass such beneficial information along to later generations--nurture. So for example, we are the apex species because we are able understand and communicate with others (nature- due to our brain size and structure), but WHAT we communicate dictates our behavior (nurture- environment).

It is nowhere near that simple...
Almost every human trait is multifactorial in nature, meaning that everything is made up of a complex combination of genes, chemistry, environment, upbringing, diet and nutrition, personal expeiences, heck, even the weather. There are VERY few things that are even close to that simple when it comes to people...
It is one of the more annoying aspects of humanity, I think... It would be so much easier if everyone would just fit into nice little boxes with perfectly clear labels, but NOOOOOOOO... they have to be all complex and unique.
