It really depends. It seems to work on a good portion of people but it's not for everyone. My daughter had really bad acne so I purchased it for it. She used it twice a day (morning & evening) religiously. At first it started clearing up her skin but after a short while it stopped working. Didn't help at all. I ended up taking her to the dermotologist who said that it's not for everyone.

He gave her an ointment prescription to use nightly along with purchasing a specific face soap over the counter for her and 10% benezyl peroxide (sp?) cream over the counter for her face. This seems to work better for her specific skin type.

If you are interested in purchasing Proactive, since it is on the expensive side, I would go with their 30 trial size first to see if it worked before you purchased the 60 or 90 day supply (can't remember which it is). Also, if it does work for you, try searching eBay for the product either as individuals or a full kit as I have seen people list them on eBay at a savings.

Best of luck to you!

I have friends who use it..and it works great for some..
Personally I had mild acne..it cleared it up in like 2 months...about 6 months later (after paying $$$$ for all the kits) it stops, and my acne was worse than ever. It had a wierd "burned" look that I've seen some other ppl get after proactiv stopped working for them too. So I went to a dermatologist and my face is 100 % better...
I guess it depends on the severity of your acne. For types like cystic--DERMATOLOGIST!!
For the occasional zits..proactive could work great!!
You should research benzoyl peroxide...it is the active ingredient and can have negative effects on your skin....

Most of the people that I've heard from who has tried proactive said that it really does work. The bad thing is that once you use it you have to keep using it that means more money spent.

Everyone's skin is different. The only way to know whether it works or not is to try it. I've never used it, but I know many who have, some swear by it, and other say it dried there skin out. If it doesn't work, you might want to try murad. That system has salicylic acid instead of benzol peroxide, and for those who don't like proactive, they usually like murad.

honestly it does not work for everyone, and i only say this to definetly not mislead you, but it does work for 90% of pple, it truly is an excellent product....

i personally use Acne Free, its the same exact thing but cheaper for $30....iv bought it at walgreens, but if you have the money for proactive, it would be a great help to you....

omg! its the best stuff ever! well sometimes it works better for some people and not so well for other people, but it mostly works really well on everyone! trust me, i have it and it totally works, you definetely wont regret it! but if you have bad acne, like really bad, then it may take a little while to clear up, about a week or so should get rid of most of it, like youll definetely notice a little difference in your face the day after you use it!

I have never personally used it but my brother used it and it worked great. He had really really bad acne and it began working in about a week. You could totally tell the difference and this was about 7 years ago. I think it's a great product and it's worth giving it a try.

Before you spend your money on something that may or may not work, consult a dermatologist. He or she can tell you if it's appropriate for the present time and your age. Don't waste your money on anything in stores unless your derm thinks you need it. He or she can prescribe you something.
