We are planning on naming our son Micagiah after my husbands grandfather, but what name should we match with it? Should Micagiah be his first or middle name?

I love that you are chosing to honor a family member with your son's name. Because it's an unusual name, I believe it's best to pair it up with a traditional name. For example, Micagiah James. Micagiah sounds fun and spirited, and James makes it sound sharp and strong all together.

It's a difficult name to pronounce and spell. He will go through life with a lot of miisprounouncing. I would definately use it as a middle name. It is a nice name and would go good with a lot of first names.

I know it's a family name, but that is really a difficult name. It's hard to pronounce, hard to spell, and will probably been asked about to the point of irritation. I also vote for using it as a middle name, and finding something easier for a first name.

With -what-?!

Micagiah? That's... uhm. Really out there. Don't do that to your child. if you must, make it his middle name.

My brother's name is Micah as his first name, and Brian-James as his middle.

Almost any of these would sound good paired with Micagiah or Micah or any variant thereof:

Bannon, Beckett, Indiana, Dmitri, Harper, Lee, Jareth, Kieran, Connor, Brooklyn, Dakota, Tadeus, Shannon, Marcus, Alistaire, Wesley, Liam, Dantes, Dermont, Zechariah, Byron, Dominic, Benedict, Julian, Hadrian, Corwin, Valerian, Hannibal, Linden, Matthais, Merrick, Dallas

No one will ever be able to pronounce it correctly on the first try. I'd vote for middle name and give the kid something normal for a first name.

how do you pronounce it?

I'm guessing Me-Kay-Ga?

then I would suggest a simple other name like James or, you know what just popped into my head? Micagiah Luis.....Spanish middle name.

Or, Elliot Micagiah?

Wow! thats a really nice name, the more I hear it the more I like it!!
Congrats on pregnancy!

Maybe in the middle he is going to have a hard time in school with that name.

How about MICHAEL Micagiah
Or Aiden MICHAGIAH?

BEST OF LUCK !!!
