It's not Limewire that's illegal; it's downloading files illegally that's illegal. If you download files legally there's no problem.

Limewire is legal because it's file sharing.
By downloading music with a license on it though you are breaking the law

The Limewire itself is legal, but what your doing is not. Limewire makes itself legal by making the point that its only providing a placeee for music listeners to download music from one another. It is not giving the music out from itself. It is just providing a place for people to share music files. And we people are downloading the music, and then sharing it for free with others. And thats when we can get in big trouble, when we're giving it to others for free. So should click on the "stop sharing" button in your limewire, if there is one, so you cant get it trouble for sharing illegal music.
But anways, limewire is like, for ex.
A person providing a buliding for drug dealers to deal in, its not actually doing the drug dealing itself, just giving them a place.
These business people are sickly clever!

Limewire, the program, is legal. Using it to download copyrighted material, e.g. music or movies, is illegal.
So what would be legal? Using it to share your own music that you made yourself, for example. But of course, that is not what most people use it for.

As long as you aren't sharing copyrighted material it's legal however if you're sharing copyrighted material Limewire (or the use of I should say) then becomes illegal.

Because the server doesn't host any files; the users do. All the software does is connect the users. Using Limewire isn't illegal; trading illegal content is.

its not legal...actually im serious...in the news a couple days ago they arrested 3 guys for using it so be careful!!....i use it too
