I lived downtown all last year. All my friends live on Woodward or Cass. Any city is dangerous if you're an idiot.

Downtown has made so many improvements and I hate to say this when Kwame took office. I am sure that the Superbowl has something to do with it.
So to answer your questions, I wouldn't walk alone in Detroit (or any other major city for that matter) I don't mind walking downtown with people with me. However other parts of the city I wouldn't even drive in. Detroit is the 2nd most dangerous city in the country for a reason.

If you are in the Downtown area you would be fine. Detroit is a beautiful city so very historical. It's when you venture outside of the Downtown area you may find trouble. I love Detroit! Would I walk alone, probably not. But then i wouldn't walk alone in any big city all by myself.

It all depends. Detroit has some decent areas and some places the cops don't even go to at night. It could be a little better since MI became a conceal carry state.

I would not walk Detroit alone at night time because Detroit is not a safe city to walk in.

Depending on exactly where in Detroit, I do all the time. Downtown & vicinity isn't bad...now say 7 mile & Evergreeen that wouldn't be too safe. People love to blow Detroit out of proportion, it isn't as bad as it's talked about.

I agree with Santa, baby. I also live in Burton, and I think Flint is way worse than Detroit. I have now lived by both cities and I think Flint is worse. I believe it rates the third unsafest city in United States in recent study!

Not me I live in MI but in Burton, it's in Flint. Try walking in Flint at night!
