Your baby will still think just like any other baby. You just have to teach them how. Take Helen Keller for example, she wasn't born deaf or blind but she got extremely sick at the age of two (or so) and became deaf and blind because of her sickness. At the age of twelve a teacher began to teach her the names of things by signing each letter slowly and letting Helen feel her hand in the shape of each letter so she could "see" how each thing was spelled. It took a long time, but a baby will learn much faster than someone who is older. Older people are usually more set in their ways and therefore it is more difficult for them to let go of those ways and learn something new.

The baby still has a brain. They don't "think" w/ they're eyes and ears. True they do tend to learn that way. They can also learn by touch and that is the best way to learn about love any way. So love them all they can and when they get older there are specialists and specialty schools that can help w/ other learning. It isn't the 50's still where these kids were all placed in institutions.

Just like you or I think... Just not in words and images... In taste and touch instead. Jusat because they can't see or hear doesn't mean they don't have conciousness and self awareness. Things will have emotional paramaters, physical characteristics and will have scents and tastes to them. Eventually they'll learn to read brail and they can learn the rudaments of speech... Pathologists today are freaking miracle workers!

By stimuli. Hugs and kisses, vibration from toys and stereos. They can feel and this is a wonderful sense to have. You can build on that. Don't let the doctors deter you from trying anything to help your baby develop to the greatest of their ability.

They still have the abillity to think, even though they can't see or hear. If this is your situation I'm truly sorry.
If not, You have a lot of time on your hands to be asking random questions.
