ok there are ups and downs of both
lip gloss- will create the shine, but will probably make your lips dryer and less healthy
chap stick- only heals lips...and once u start using it u cant stop otherwise ur lips dry out really quickly; also does not shine at all
so my opinion, is that u should get petroleum jelly. i use it ALL the time...it heals ur lips, and has a really nice natural shine. i used to use it just to heal my lips, and then i realized that there was a major shine, and i started using it for that too..its really great
u can get a big 13. 0z or something like that at walgreens if u want or u can even get it in a small tube
its really great...its like both combined

if ur lips r really dry use chapped stick, then after about a week they should heal. then u can use lip gloss if you wnat them to look a different color or frosty or shinier, it looks bad if u use lip gloss on really chapped lips. but it keeps them from getting chapped if u use it enough

I'd put on chapped stick first to moisterize my lips and lip gloss to coat and make them shine. Using just lip gloss might dry lips.

Chapped Sick. Definately.
Seriously tho, chapped stick/lip balm..try something like Burts Bees or Bath and Body works MenthaLip stuff...it's glossy and conditoning!!

ChapStick.
Lip Gloss doesn't help dry or chapped lips. It just makes it look icky.

lip gloss. Certain lip glosses can help chapped lips as well as make them look good.

If your lips are dry, then put on Chap stick; if you want to be sexy, put on lip gloss. For really dry lips, put petroleum jelly on your lips at bedtime.

i like both but my favorite is Carmex lip balm its the bomb i guess i like the menthol in the formula cause its so soothing on your lips
and chap stick is the bomb
but my fave lip gloss is Wet & Wild Coral color is so beautiful if u want the natural look with your makeup

chapped stick is better because it heals you lips and lip gloss just makes it worse because it doesn't moisturize.
