Often the exceptionally pretty and fit girls are vain and have expectations that are too high...they think that their physical appearance is the be all and end all of a relationship with a man, and seek only the men that they consider to be their physical equal. Men, despite the fact that they are physically attracted to the exceptionally pretty and fit girls, realize that in an actual relationship "who" a person is matters far more than "what" they look like (as long as they bathe regularly, cut their toe nails, and clean behind their ears)..so, the heavier and plainer girls have boyfriends because they probably work far harder on their personalities than their exceptionally pretty and fit counterparts (who are often too busy looking in the mirror worrying about their make-up to notice the plain fat girl running of with their man)..I don't believe that vanity is something that men find particularly attractive in a long term sense...

sometimes its one of those, "i'm free, your free, lets go out" kinda things. they don't really like each other all that much but they go out. but you know what every relationship is different. if you are pretty and fit, show your personality is kind, friendly, and not vein or high-matenenced. if you are the plain and overweight, you can also find a handsome guy! don't settle until you have found the guy that is perfect for you!

. I have know irls who had such a reputation for being beautiful that a majority of the guys were afraid to ask them out, while the guys with the required self confidence already had girl friends.
. In short, though guys have a reputation for being very shallow, and their talk may falsely indicate that they are shallow, most are very attuned to the beauty of the peronality as muc as they are to the beauty of the face and figure.

Because they r content with themselves and r not so worried about superficial or materialistic things. They think of their man first then themself. They r not selfish or worried about small things like insecurity. Practice this and bet u'll get a great catch too. Mind u I'm not telling u not to look good but u shouldn't make looking good ur priorty in life there r also ur man and family.

Sometimes this is because of personality, they have a saying "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". The bottom line is sometimes people who think that they are cute are very arrogant and self indulged. Men like women who are caring and have time too pay attention to them. If you want a man in your life than you have to be able to show him that he is important as well.

Men think that pretty girls have got too many suitors and so they won't stand a chance or they would imagine that the girl is 'loose'.
Women don't have the same assumptions with handsome men.

Hmmm .... 2 reasons:
1 - prettier girls seem more unattainable to guys. We see pretty girls and automatically think they are out of our league, so we don't bother hitting on them and instead go for girls that we think we can get.
2 - "plain" and "heavy" girls usually don't have alot of romantic options. So when they get a boyfriend, they are willing to do just about anything to make their guy happy. Guys can usually sense a desperate girl, so we go for them.

Really attractive people are often told they are attractive. This may make them a bit to sure of themselves or even deny them a chance to make it on something other than their looks. When age and gravity set in, these people often find themselves at a loss for how to deal with life.

because heavier and plainer girls have better personalities that pretty girls. pretty girls always think their all that. and guys dont want to feel bones when hes holdin a girl (no ofense to skinny girls)

my mother says when one of the couple is attractive, they choose someone less attractive because of their own vanity. They want to look better than their spouse. Maybe? When I worked O.B. we nurses were often astonished at the "unmatched" couples, one pretty one very plain.
