K....im interested in buying a used truck....but this guy that owns the truck had an accident and had to have a small peice of the frame welded together. It wasnt a huge thing either. But will that come back and bite me in the future if i do get the truck? Like will it ruin the alignment? I need help from someone who knows more about trucks than i do please....

If it's a good deal on the truck, tell him you're interested but you want your mechanic to look at it before you finalize the deal. This is a standard request when buying a used car--you should do it whether they told you there's a problem or not!

If the shop OKs it, then go for it.

I would would pass on it myself if i were u. U never now what u are getting into when u buy a vehicle with frame dmg. If the frame work was done incorrectly u may never be able to get an alignment done on it or worst of all fall apart when diving down the road.

The worst thing that could be wrong with any vehicle is the frame being bent or broke.
I would bever by a car or truck with that problem. They usually junk them when that happens. It can never be repaired right.

Do not buy this truck.

I THINK YOU NEED TO BUY FROM A USED CAR DEALER
at least you'll get a warrant, which you will not get buying from privet sellers.Best thing to do is take the truck to a reportable mechanic and have them make the decisions for you,if its bad then don't buy it simple, if the person tells you that you can't do that then you do not want that Vehicle,BooBBie trap?

If you really want the truck, take it to a body shop, and PAY them to tell you if the damage was repaired properly.
Myself, I would not buy a vehicle that has been in a accident

Your best bet is to re-think your other alternatives (If there is any), look around some more... From my past experience I'd advise you to get something which hasn't been in an accident. Without knowing the exact damage... I wouldn't be able to tell you if it would hold up.

I don't, but I know enough that if the frame is welded, it's not as strong as it should be...keep shopping. There will be a better deal.

a lot of vehicles (especially cars) have been wrecked and had something welded to repair it . if it's done right there's no problem. if the repair was not done by a reputable licensed repair facility then than chances of being done right are slim

Depends what kind of truck it is, what you're going to be using it for, how bad the damage was, and how good the repair was.

Never buy a wrecked car. Ever. You can find something else later. Don't take the risk, no matter how great the deal is.
