What is the best way to put on eyeliner?

START AT THE INSIDE AND DRAW YOUR LINE OUT TO THE EDGE OF THE EYE. IF YOU NEED HELP, PUT SOME EYELINER DOTS ON YOUR LID AND CONNECT THEM.

First, let me say that I'm sorry that some of those answering your question are quite rude. I'm sorry some people are so uncouth. But, to answer your question. I find liquid eyeliner easier to put on or I have to melt a pencil liner with a lighter (or use a hair dryer) a bit first so it goes on a little easier. Line the top lid as closely to your lashes as possible & use a color that's closest to your hair color. If you're a redhead, I wouldn't use black. If you're blonde maybe use a brown or tawny. I'm a medium brunette, so I use a dark brown. For your lower lids, you really don't need any, but if you choose to. Try a liner that's a wee bit lighter than your top liner, or you can use the same one. I choose to use a lighter one, so my eyes appear larger. Don't line the inside of the lid with the liner. But I do line the inside of my lower lid with white eyeliner & it makes your eyes pop. It's like magic. I bought the white eyeliner at Wal Mart for 99 cents it's called Wet n' Wild. If you choose not to wear liner on your lower lids, when you use mascara use the run the brush sideways rather than up & down & it will give you a little bit of a liner look.
Make sure your lower lid isn't lined as heavily as the upper lid b/c it will make your eyes look smaller & you'll get what I call the "trailer trash" look. By the way, my eyes are the feature I get the most compliments on. In fact there's a gentleman who comes to one of my shows (I'm a caberet singer) who's nick named me "Sexy Eyes". I really appreciate the compliment & I don't wear a lot of eye make-up. It takes a little practice but after awhile, you'll get the hang of it. Good luck.

so you see the lip of your eye I wish I could draw it for you ..okay The lip of your eye that it agenist teh white of your eye. make sure your eyeliner is sharp if its dull it will scratch your eye and THAT HURTS !!! lightly apply the eye liner on that line. If you want it darker go over it a few times until its dark enough now close one eye. see your eye lashes start puting the eyeliner just barely above the eye lash.That way its all around your eye to remove at the end of the day before you take a shower or bath...Get baby oil close your eye and rub it off then take a shower or bath. Don't sleep with it on its bad for your face and you will get wrinkles earlyer than when your supposed too. make sure you get the corners of the eyes too . like the side just tap the eyeliner on each corner. If your gothic color the eye liner about 5 centimters down your eye then on the top make it really thick. I hope I answered your question well enough to understand. Good luck on putting it on.

try practising on a doll or something. but u should be near a mirror very closely! And just follow through. never try the wet kind eyeliner because its harder and its also very messy. once I accidently pokes it in my eye and well u know. the pencil knid is much easier.

You can take an eye liner brush... and put it in some dark eye makeup... and put it on that way... or you can get liquid eyeliner and put it on that way... or just the regualar way...

concentrate
stop blinking your eyes or tearing up
draw the line slowly and thin: not large like your outlining a picture in a coloring book
but basically practice makes perfect and if u mess up use a q-tip and wipe it and start over
make sure the q-tip is dry and u have plenty ..NEVER use wet face towel it will smear and give u that raccoon look.....
