Whats the purpose for states having anyone under 21 a minor while other states have minor as anyone under 18, say if your in a state that has minor up to 21 does a 20 year old get charged in crimes as minor or adult

if your 18, 19, 20 in state where majority age is 21 do you need permission for things from a parent or guardian like say if you were 16, or 17 in state with majority of 18

In Nebraska your just a minor for drinking under the age of 21. Over the age of 16 you can be charged as an adult for depending on the severity of the crime.

As far as crimes go, people can be charged as an adult as young as 12 or 13 years old nowadays in any state depending on the circumstances. As far as I am aware, the biggest difference in the "minor" age is what age you can gamble.

in south carolina you can legally drink if your parents let you but you gotta be in your house. 18 you can buy tobacco and get into some clubs/strip clubs. 17 in south carolina your a legal adult but dont have very many privaliges. 21 you can buy alcohol.
