Your employer should notify the county agency where your case is. They will want to know when you expect to return to work. Hopefully your employer will be able to give them an idea. Until then, obviously you won't be able to pay. The time missed will get added onto the end. In other words...if you miss 6 months... you'll have to make it up later. If you pay until your child turns 18, if you missed 6 months, you'll have to pay for 6 more months passed their 18th birthday. The support is due, regardless of how long it takes to pay. It's in your best interest to get a job ASAP. You are better off notifying the county child support agency first thing Monday. They need to know, and if you do it right away, it shows you are concerned about the situation. Keep them informed. It is the best thing for you and for your children.

As mentioned by other's obviously you need to support yourself. So get in touch with an attorney that specializes in this. Plus, since you were terminated apply now, ON THE COMPUTER, for unemployment. Plus, right now, LOOK FOR JOBS! It will take a few weeks for the Unemployment to hit, but the sooner you do, the sooner it takes action.

You just have another day. Instead of guessing at this you should think about how you can cut back financially in case the child support stays the same.

This may sound harsh but...your children still need to eat.

They will reduce it or not let you pay for a little while till you get a new job. Make sure you tell your attorney and bring proof that you were laid off.

child support just don't get put on hold , becasue you have hit a bump in the road. it will be considered as non-payment until it goes back to court and is adjusted.
