controversial, i know- but initially bin laden released videos denying responsibility for the terrorist attacks. I think it was only after a week that al quada claimed it was them, could they conceivably be taking the blame for someone else?

There are conspiracy theories that it was the us government that carried out the 9/11 attacks - I dont buy it, so please dont fill up my questions page with stories of how bush killed 3000 of his own people to start a war over oil - gw is a douche but he's no nero. But feel free to speculate whether it could have been another terrorist group, domestic terrorism or whatever thought - but can you give links/references for stuff you say

I just think its interesting - why would osama deny it initially? You would think it would be party time in the cave when the news came on and every fanatic islamic group would be scrambling to take credit - Im pretty sure osama was behind 9/11 but I just wanted to hear if anyone else had other reasonable explanations.

as for explosives in the wtc - im not sure, conspiracy theories go on about molten metal and thermite - could this have been planted by terrorists in the plane? is it possible that the building was flawed due to workmanship/design? are there other reasons why there might not be full disclosure about the causes of 9/11?

Yes, Al Quada was responsible for the attack on the twin towers on 9/11/2001, but Bin Laden may not have been responsible.

Bin Laden is said to have approved the attack, but he had nothing to do with the actual planning and he is not in charge of Al Quada. Bin Laden is a rich Saudi and a great contributor to the cause of Al Quada. Without a doubt some of his money was used to fund the attack, but it is doubtful if Bin Laden is in charge of Al Quada. However, at the time the Bush Administration announced its vendetta against him he was the highest Al Quada leader we knew of.

The death of Bin Laden will not stop Al Quada; in fact it will survive the death of any one of its leaders, even if we are able to kill the entire leadership someone will rise from the ranks to take over. We have seen exactly this happen in Iraq. However, if Bin Laden were killed then that would cut off a lot of Al Quada's funding.

If cutting the "head" off the beast won't work then the US Government will be happy to cut off the "foot" (Bin Laden) so it can't keep running.

Al Quada would not take the blame from anyone else. They are quite proud of their crime and are extremely happy to take credit for it. The successful attacks prove that Al Quada is a powerful force in the world of international terrorism. Hamas and Hezbollah would love to pull something like that off in the US. Because of their attacks against the US Al Quada are heroes in the Middle East.

I also don't believe the conspiracy theories that the US somehow helped, wanted, or pulled off the attacks. There are much easier ways to plan for a war in Iraq. In fact Bush's staff was looking for some excuse so George Junior could "finish" Daddy's War. I don't like the Bush Administration, but I don't think they would be capable of doing something like this.

IF however, I were wrong, if somehow they or part of the government were behind the attacks then the news of that would have surely leaked out by now. News that powerful simply can't remain hidden. The thing that most conspiracy nuts forget is that it takes more than 2 or 3 people to pull off these big conspiracies. It has been said, "Two people can keep a secret, if one of them is dead." Talk about a huge story, if someone just had a rumor of proof they could go to any newspaper and become famous overnight. Then they could go on the talk show network and become rich, all the while being a huge hero in the eyes of every American, not to mention the book deal. That kind of temptation is too strong to resist and that is why I know that the big conspiracies aren't real. People love to gossip too much and the rewards for busting a conspiracy this big would be worth almost any risk, even the risk of your own life and the lives of your family. If someone got that news out then they would have it made for the rest of their lives.

What we need to worry about is Al Quada’s threat to take out the Capitol or White House. Al Quada was behind the first bombing of the World Trade Center. When that failed they came up with a new plan. They are working on another plan right now. Hopefully they are too tied up fighting us in Iraq to pull anything off, but as so many leaders have said, “The terrorists only have to get lucky once.”

·Al Quada was behind 9/11, they are proud of that fact and it makes them a force in the Middle East.
·Bin Laden supported 9/11 with both money and his blessing, but he was not responsible for it.
·Any conspiracy that the US government could have somehow been involved in the attack just won’t hold up to scrutiny. The simple fact that no credible evidence has been found to date that the US had something to do with the attack proves it.

depends on who you listen too doesnt it! I don't think the whole truth is about to come out anytime soon, maybe not in our life time, there was a conspiracy as conspiracy means more than one person involved. Why did the buildings free fall when they colsaped? Why did they steel melt at the tempature it did, when it should of held, unless it was imploded? Why was security reduced and bomb dogs removed prior to the attacks? A whole lot of unanwsered questions remain. I don't know if Bin Ladden was partiallyaaa, fully or not responsible, those that may have actual knowledge arent saying

I always refer to the fact that Rumsfeld was in the pentagon when that got hit. Unless Rummy was waiting in a bunker, I think that's evidence of the US not being in charge of the attacks.

It if turns out there was a conspiracy that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be the US govt, could have been a local security team with terrorist operatives on its payroll - they could have been in the buildings planting the explosives while they were doing the rounds at night - like you're saying.

However, can anybody tell us how much drilling and racket rigging up a building for explosives must be? How come nobody heard anything? I'm talking about the latest footprint collapses of course.

Asking for advice from explosives experts here. Some of these guys need to come forward and enlighten us on this.

How could anyone possibly believe the government was behind 9-11. That is totally ridiculous. Anyone who believes that, should go live in a cave like the animals in the Middle East.

A demented ideology and its equally demented followers were responsible for 9/11.
Osama Bin Laden is most certainly a major player in this ideology of hatred and murder.
Al quada - Hesbollah - Humas - Revolutionary Guards - Islamic Jihad - etc...etc......

A rose by any other name is still a rose.

Al-Queda, led by Osama Bin-Laden was responsible for the terror attacks.

As for the early video he made denying the attacks, he lied. He has made several videos claiming full responsibility since then.

I don't believe there is any doubt, there is films with him and most of the highjackers a couple of years before it happened.

He may not have exactly ordered how and when because most of the cells ( groups) operate somewhat independent.
But he most likely funded the people who did it, and the over all terror group wanted it done.

Yes he was. Indecisiveness was the probably the cause of it. If he wasn't then why he suddenly take credit for something that could get him killed and at the very least would take away all luxeries.
