Ok these girls are rude. You shouldn't smoke while you are pregnant. Thats a given but theres no reason to be rude and call someone stupid. I am just not quitting. I was told since I don't smoke alot it wasn't a big deal. I started smoking more though. Now I worry about the affects it could have on my baby so I'm quitting. The best thing to do is to try to quit. Sometimes its too stressful on the mother which cancause stress on the baby and in that case cut down as much as possible and try to quit at a later time.

Nope, I was 3 weeks when I found out I was pregnant with my first and I was smoking, but the second I got that positive test in my hand, I never smoked another cigarette again and didnt look back. I cant imagine smoking and risking the babys health. There is no excuse to be smoking while pregnant. Its not hard to quit immediately when you think of the baby.

I did. The reason I did it; my doctor recomended it. I had many complications that were putting a lot of stress on my daughters. When I found out I was pregnant I had been smoking a pack and a half a day. I didn't, I cut down to no more than 3 or 4 cigarettes a day. Both of my daughters could have died from added stress to them. I may be "stupid," to some people but I would rather have a living baby than a dead baby.

I smoked with both of my pregnancies.........though I did cut down. I heard all the "preterm labor, low birth weight" horror stories from everyone, and you know what? My son was 2 weeks late and 8 pounds 11 ounces. My daughter was 5 days late, and 8 pounds even. I'm sure if you smoke a TON, and replace the food you should be eating with a cig, then yes, its going to matter. I'm pregnant with my third, and I'm down to about 3 smokes a day. I'm quitting this time, because I'm READY to quit. Smoking is an addiction, for all you non smokers out there. And a lot of times, being pregnant is stressful.

Do what you have to, IMO.

Absolutely not, even though I am not a smoker, i would never while pregnant. Everything that goes into you effects the baby, and it also goes to the placenta. Smoking can age the placenta and keep from nourishing your baby. You only have 3 grade levels for the placenta, by the 3rd it can no longer give your baby what they need. Smoking ages the placenta too early and can age it to where you have to induce way before the baby is fully developed and ready.

I smoked until my 3rd trimester, by then I was feeling too tired and miserable and guilty for smoking lol mostly I couldn't be bothered to go outside for a smoke as it involved using all the energy to get up especially if you had major fluid retention. I very much miss just having something in my mouth so when I stopped smoking I replaced it with bottled water, now I'm thirsty all the time! lol.

I smoked with all of my kids and they were all very healthy. (8lbs. 13oz, 8lbs 2oz., and 9lbs) All doctors will tell you not to smoke while pregnant due to the health risks invoved, if they didnt atleast warn you of the dangers of smoking while pregnant and your child is born with an abnormality or some sort of illness then you could turn around and sue them for not advising you of all of the risks. Most doctors that you will ever go to will tell you not to smoke even if you aren't pregnant and in pretty good health, that's their job.

Being pregnant, you should try to smoke less if it is too hard to quit all together. Find something else to do with your time, like snack on raw veggies and fruits.

I smoked for the first 3 mons. I was trying VERY hard to quit, and eventually did. It is very hard to do, but I just started to cut back, and finally just quit. However, I know SEVERAL women who did smoke while pregnant, and with no problems. But, you just never know, and I knew that if anything happened, or if anything was wrong with him, I'd always think that it was my fault, even if it had nothing to do with the smoking. Some babies are affected, some aren't, but I just wasn't willing to take that chance.

I smoked my first pregnancy....I cut down to less than one cigarette a day tho. The guilt I felt afterwards was so horrible, I hated it!! BUT my daughter came out just fine & was HUGE too, thank you very much! 8 lbs 7 oz!

For everyone else condemning smoking pregnant women who aren't even smokers themselves - WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!? If you don't smoke, then you clearly have NO idea how very difficult it is to give up. Every mother wants the best for their baby & being pregnant is stressful enough without being looked down upon by you *******!!

I just found out I'm pregnant again today WAHOO! :) And am trying my very hardest to quit cold turkey.....

All you can do is try your very hardest, you don't wanna stress yourself completely over it so just take care of yourself first & foremost! :)
