I know this is a sweeping generalization, but I get glared at a lot by random blk ppl when I'm smiling with my friends...is this jealousy, why do they take note of this, bc I'm blk too?

You know, I've wondered about that and surprise someone else noticed.
I'm white as can be but seem to have and have had plenty of black friends. Whenever I've noticed what you described it was almost always followed by conversation which almost always ends the same way. My friends will tell me that they (the jealous ones) think they're acting white! That statement completely blows me away because, when I'm with a black friend outside from work at a tournament, or bar or what ever, I will occasionally get a look or comment from a white individual or group about me hanging with him... or her!
You know what? Now that I've read my answer, I'm satisfied with those people (the jealous ones black or white). At least, if they are giving the indication I know who not to hang around with. Geez,,,, Hard picking your white friends these days@

Good question! I've wondered that myself. At my old high school, my sisters and I were always looked at as 'the stuck up' ones. I'm also Blk and can't understand why some people act like they have a problem with you when they don't even know you.
I just stock it up to jealousy and ignorance. Just do what I do SMILE when they look your way!
At least you look good and they end up looking idiotic.

THERE ARE JUST JEALOUS PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. NO MATTER WHAT THE RACE. THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT TRY TO PUT OTHERS DOWN AND DON'T LIKE TO SEE OTHERS HAPPY. JUST IGNORE THEM, THEY WILL ONLY BRING YOU DOWN IF YOU LET THEM...BUT FOR THE RECORD THEY COULD JUST BE STARING AT YOU BECAUSE THEY THINK YOU ARE PRETTY..WHO KNOWS...I GET A LOT OF STARES TOO FROM OTHER BLACK PEOPLE...WHO KNOWS WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR HEADS

Maybe they want to know why you're smiling so they can smile too. Honestly, I don't really notice that stuff unless it's a really dirty look. (I mean REALLY dirty like you don't even have to be looking at them to know you're being looked at, dirty!)
But those are the ppl U ignore, black, white, magenta, whatever.

That's a weird question. Are you sure that it is just Black people staring at you or are other races staring at you also but you only notice the Black people who do. And if they are staring at you, stare back and smile, I don't think that they are jealous of you...I'm Black, and I wouldn't be.

It sure seems like it, I don't want to be generalizing but it does seem if you are a smiley happy black person( especially girl) others who have messed up attitudes always frown at you and want to be nasty! I don't get it...
