I don't have them because when I go out(away from the phone) its partly to get away from a ringing phone and get some peace. And its pretty funny to see people walking around grocery stores so full of themselves, yakking away.

Cellphones have become a sort of necessity for most people in today's world and I too consider them a necessity, especially if you live in a highly-populated area (NYC for example.) Blackberries are something that only business people, executives, CEO's, etc. should have. Unless you're into gadgetry I don't see a problem with it. A lot of people do think cellphones are annoying, but it comes in handy when you need it.

I have a cell phone, but I practically never use it. I have that Virgin Mobile plan that tops up $20 every three months and there's way over $100 on it. I just have it in case of emergencies, especially in the car. I don't even know what a blackberry is! LOL

i don't own a cellphone or blackberry, ipod etc etc. i have used a friends cellphone to call someone but not on a regular basis. i can see a use for cellphones (traveling alone etc) but most people i know seem to be unusually connected to them - they talk more over them than to people that they are actually with at the time.

I've spent less than 20 minutes on a pre-paid phone this year. I only have one because I drive one car that is 13 years old and one that is 21 years old. AAA is a blessing.

There's got to be at least a dozen in the U.S.
My re-enactor friends who go and camp out and pretend they're living in the 1850s take their cell with them. How weird is that?
