my daughters 4 day old baby was put on soybean formula.she had a lot of gas ,diarrah and her stomach would gurrgle on milk formula.the reason im concern is on a web site i read that soybean formula could cause brain damage.but my 2 daughters were put on it when they were born because they would always viomit from milk formula.it seems that every girl baby in my family cant drink milk formula,even thow my girls are ok.should i be worried about what this web site says.?

I really would not worry to much about it. If it really did cause brain damage they would have already took it off the shelf. I would watch her, as you would with any formula, and just play it by ear. She could be allergic to the soy even, then what would you do about milk at all for her. I would worry more about that than brain damage. It will all work out, like you said your other daughters were okay,

I would not recommend the soy formula, because it I read that it can cause cancer. They have done studies on soy formula and the rats that they gave the formula to got cancer. The organic soy formula might be a better choice. You might try this brand (with the doctors OK first) Baby's Only Organic Soy Formula. It does say its made for toddler's, but that is only because they promote breastfeeding for the first year of life. Here's their website www.naturesone.com.

Soy isn't stated for babies under a million year old. Use a milk-based formulation. If the toddler can't tolerate it, then use between the pre-digested ones like Pregestamil, Nutramigen, Alimentum, etc. yet no longer soy till a minimum of age a million.

relax mom, it will be OK. I promise. My sons were born lactose intolerant and put on soy formula for the first year. Everything was fine by time that they were a year old. Both are in middle school and have been in Honor role and the who's who in middle school, and drink milk by the gallon, and eat cheese by the pound.

So THAT'S what is wrong with my 20 year old nowadays brain damage! Hmmm do you suppose that had she not been on soy formula she wouldn't be carrying a 4.0 grade point average in college for two years in a row? Man talk about your brain damage.
