My three month old will be extremely happy most of the day, but then out of nowhere he will just scream and won't stop when comforted. Then afterwards he just goes back to the way he was. He has no fever or diarrhea or cold. Please help.

Is this something that just started or has he been doing this for a long time? I know a lot of baby's go through a time everyday where they are just really upset for no reason. If it's just started then maybe he's starting to teethe.

My three month old is the same way. I think she has a few things going on. She is teething. Even if there are no teeth visible the teeth could be setting in. My baby also gets gas but she doesn't have the same symptoms she had when she was a new born. There subtle. She sometimes arches her back. Other times she just becomes very upset for a short while. She also is at a point in her development where she is getting very frustrated with not being able to do things. When we're playing she gets mad when she is trying to pick up something and she can't.She also tries to sit and stand up by pulling her head and half her upper body off the ground and then she gets upset when it doesn't work.As long as he is happy most of the time I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just do the best you can to soothe him.

Is there a possability that he is teething? If so what methods do you use to help his little gums? Babies usually start teething right around three months, so my suggestion to you would be to get teething tablets, which are safe and disolve almost on contact with the mouth, you can find that at any drug store or pharmacy. I would also try a nice warm bath. It could also just be his way of letting you know that he is rilled up. Babies can get bored and frustrated like the rest of us that's for sure. If all else fails, call his pediatrition. The doctors usually have all the answers :) good luck!

I have an 8 month old son who did the same thing at your childs age and so did my older son who is now 3. both children had reflux. That could be one idea, another could be gas. Is your baby burping after he eats? Have you tried gas drops? If this is the case our pediatric gastroenterologist suggested a 2 oz. bottle of water per day heated to luke warm with 1 tbs. brown sugar. It relieves gas, helps the bowels, and does not create any cramping for the infant.

Has he been like this for a few weeks? Colic could also be another route. Although, I had repeated Dr.s tell me both sons had colic and in truth they really hurt.

I know all we have here to offer you is advice, and some people are not very into the idea of a chiropractor, but both of my boys see one, and both of them had crying spells, my youngest the WORST, he would cry out of no where, pull up his legs, and I would hold him and nothing would settle him down, I took him to a chiropractor who adjusted his neck which was out of place from birth (he was only 6 weeks old at this time) and his hip was as well. We went once a week for 3 weeks then every 2 weeks, and I could not believe the improvement. He did still have the reflux and vomitting, but no more of the crying out in pain, he was much more content, I highly recommend you looking into a chiropractor in your are who will work on infants, and talk to him or her. It is not like adult adjustments (I was SO frightened when I first went to take my son, I thought he may paralize him or break something) but he just held him close and barely moved him, it looked like a hug actually, and everytime we left the office after an adjustemnet with both boys, they slept all afternoon, as if an instant relief had just came to them.

Whatever way you choose to try with your little one, I wish you the best of luck, it is so overwhelming when your little one does not feel well. You are the mother, and have that feeling that "something just isn't right" "that it just isn't colic" you be his advocate, and take him to doctor after doctor until someone listens and gets that little boy feeling better!! Goodluck to you, and Hugs:) Here is a geat website I have used FREQUENTLY with my sons, check it out, and see if there are any suggestions that feel right for you:) Goodluck!!!

There is probably nothing at all wrong. A 3 month old is just a wee little person and has moods like the rest of us. Un fortunately they cannot reason or communicate in the ways we are accustomed to as adults. As time goes on you will probably notice that in stead of "out of nowhere" these fits start long before the screaming, the trick is to find out what's wrong before it gets to the inconsolable stage. It could be lots of things: hungry, tired, bored, wet, gassy, or even over-stimulated.

All babys have a fussy time. This is normal. My boys tended to be fussy about 2 hours before bed time.If he has no fever of any signs of illness i would think that is what it is.Dose he do this around the same time every day? I found that if I gave my boys their bath around that time it helped some.

maybe it is something more serious if he just screams out of nowhere. Maybe he is really hurting, maybe internally. You may want to rub him and see if he screams when something is touched. Then I would call my doctor and ask him. Babies that young do not just cry for no reason at all.

It could be teething or gas pains. You might also want to look into the very rare possibility of intussusception. It is very rare but it's possible and easily treated if caught in time.

I too would have said teething...or possibly gas. Watch and see if his tummy seems to be bothered. If so Mylicon works well for that and is for babies.

If it is teething when he starts crying give him some infant tylenol.
