well the wives tale is that it means you are having a little boy. I am not so sure how true that is or why your nose can get wider, however, i am pregnant with a girl and no wide nose. Someone i work with had two boys and her nose got wide both times. Sorry i can not answer your question, but thought you might be interested in the wives tale...lol

Supposedly it's because you are carrying a boy. An old wives tale, I know but I don't think anyone is quite sure exactly why some women's noses get bigger and some don't.

You'll also notice a lot of nasal stuffiness. Its just another thing that swells during pregnancy..there's a medical reason for it but I can't remember the specifics. I think it has something to do with capillaries.

My mom, who used to be a OB nurse, told me about a week before I had my son that it would be any day because my nose was getting wider.

I have no idea but I do notice that. My mom was watching Dr. Phil and there was a pregnat woman and she knew she was pregnat because of her nose. She says that when you are pregnat you gain weight and it doesn't go to only one spot. Also it happens because of hormones.

I have heard of that, but I have never had that happen to me. I dont remember the reason that happens to some though. Im sure there is something about it on babycenter.com. I read it somewhere.

I asked my doctor about that and he said something about because you are supplying extra air to your unborn baby and the passageway you were using was not big enough. That usually happens with small babies or larger babies.
