all modern no-frost refrigerators work basically the same. The freezer compartment is where the cooling coil is located & the ref. (fresh food) compartment is cooled by ducting a portion of the cold air into it. The freezer control is usually just a manually-controlled door that you open & close by turning a knob. You need to access the cooling coil & see what is blocking the air flow. If the cooling coil is completely frosted over (looks like snow), your automatic defrost system is not functioning. You can turn off the ref. & defrost with a hair dryer. There are three parts that make up the defrost system, & you should probably call a service tech to check it out. It could also be that the fan motor is not running- it has to run to circulate the cold air. The third cause could be ice blocking the internal vent passages in the freezer & blocking air flow. This would be caused by a plugged defrost drain-look under the coil & you will find the opening. You can use a turkey baster & hot water to clean it out.
