I'm not his patient anymore, is it allright to date him? I'm seeing another doctor already but anyways we've been going out and we're not ready to let people know we are.

If he's not your doctor anymore then I see nothing wrong with it! People meet in stranger ways than the two of you! Sounds like a great story to tell the grandkids if ou ask me. Tell people as you feel it is necessary. Keep it a secret if you want to. Either way the two of you are happy and I respect the man for asking you to find another doctor. If only everyone out there was as honest as he is. You go girl!!! Go play doctor *wink* and have some fun!

He is a doctor not god, so what is the difference? He is NOONE special and if he thinks that because he has the letters MD after his name he is a god then he needs to be knocked down a few notches. So what if you date the doctor, there is nothing wrong with it, it just means he may not be able to treat you properly as a patient when you have a problem. So what is the big deal here? Are you just trying to get some attention because you are dating a doctor? I work with many doctors everyday and they are nothing special and unless they have a certain type of specialty that they work in IE NEURO SURGEON, ORTHO SURGEON, etc they really don't make that much more money than the rest of us. I know...

In the clinical field, the accepted time from which a therapist/doctor ceases to treat a patient and they date is 2 years. Ethically other doctors would feel odd about his decision..

Number one, you date whoever you want. It was a good idea to see another doctor though...

Number two, why cant you tell anyone? He's not your doctor anymore so do whatever you want...

I think that is disgusting. No, especially if you told him any psychological problems you were having. If he ever prescribe you antidepressants or anti-anxiety medicine, then I would said definitely not. That is sick. That would be like drugging someone to date them.

Well you are two consenting adults. Since you switched doctors.... i would say go for it. I doubt anyone would care, unless he is there doctor too.

Why not? What are you looking for here? Approval? Why..you don't need our approval to live your life. Go for it and do what feels right to you.
