In reality no pure black flowers exist. The so-called black tulip is actually very dark purple and the black rose is, in fact, very dark red.

Nope! No such thing as a black rose, although even apart from picture enchancement, there's a trick you can do with certain flowers by splitting the bottom of the stem and stickign each part into a different food coloring mix, it'll absorb throught he flower and through the petals. It works with carnations, not so sure about roses.

Black roses, like most unusually colored flowers that you can get at your local florist shop, are made by putting a fresh live cut flower into a dye solution. The plant sucks up the dye and the flower takes on the intended color.
Sending someone a black rose means that you wish death upon them.

Black is a euphemism for a very dark red rose. There are many of these and some of them have the word 'black' in their name (i.e. Black Prince, Black Ice, Black Jade). However, they are not truly black. There really is no such thing and the blackest of these is one called Tuscany. It is very lovely. There are several modern Hybrid Teas that are this rich, dark color. Try a good nursery in your area that carries roses and see what they can find for you.

I haven't a clue if they're real or not, but they'd be divine if they were.
I recommend picking up the phone book and browsing through florists. It's a double win; they can confirm whether such a rose exists, and if it does, they might have some. If not, they can redirect you to somewhere that does.
Personally, I'd love a violet rose.

Black Roses do not exist in nature but black roses are actually very dark reds, and dark purples, and some red varieties have petals that burn to black in the sun, but there are no true blacks. According to the Jackson's and Perkin's website, Black Magic is the darkest natural rose but it looks reddish: http://www.jacksonandperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BECProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10053&catalogId=10005&superItemId=J24754&sliSearch=black%20magic
However, some floral shops can spray paint them black, I think. You can try to spray paint a rose yourself.
