Well there's the obvious: Pedro De La Rosa, Lewis Hamilton and Gary Paffett.

Out of these three I'd say Pedro because he is the type you'd want as 2nd driver. Lewis is to inexperienced to take the seat and Gary I think has been pushed a side because of Lewis.

There's also another: Mika Hakkinen. He's been having a few runs on the McLaren simulator for the past few months. It would also give Ron a pair of experienced (both being double world champions) drivers. Just what he needs after a 'brilliant' 2006 season.

I think Ron Dennis will keep us all guessing until after the new McLaren-Mercedes is launched and all his drivers have put some mileage on it.
Unless something really strange happens, the competition for that second seat is between Pedro de la Rosa, Gary Paffett and Lewis Hamilton; I think the smart money is on Hamilton to partner Fernando Alonso in 2007.

those sort of solutions....yet no one is making the component! the component is that in case you haven't any longer have been given a competent automobile, it is not appropriate how stable you're as a driving force. seem at Button, he's stable. yet Honda is a disaster, so no one talks approximately him. Is Lewis stable? specific! yet he had an excellent automobile final 12 months. If he drove for Honda no one would talk approximately him. Now i will make a component which will disillusioned some British followers: based upon this wintry climate attempting out, Kovalainen in McLaren has been frequently swifter than Lewis. in line with probability there will be yet another implosion interior the McLaren group this upcoming 12 months. style that to declare that Lewis is the worst is definitely stupid. Lewis has shown in one 12 months that he's extremely stable (with an excellent automobile, do no longer forget). Alonso isn't the ultimate, nonetheless. there is no thank you to be sure that. he's without doubt one among the ultimate for constructive. From what we observed interior the final 4-5 years, Raikkonen, Alonso, Massa and Schumacher have been the quickest (Lewis basically final 12 months). Shumi retired, Massa has made extra errors than the others. Lewis has basically one 12 months with an astounding automobile, so i won't somewhat choose him yet. subsequently, Alonso and Raikkonen are in all probability the ultimate. yet whilst Webber, Button, Rosberg between different have been driving Ferraris or McLarens, we can be talking of them, too, to comprise them between the ultimate!!!!!!

Are McLaren a little short on cash? Well, EVERYONE in F1 could ALWAYS do with a bit of cash. With their big new factory in Woking costing Ron zillions of dollars, I'm sure Mr Dennis would like some nice Spanish sponsor to come up and give him a bit of pocket money. Spanish combo of Alonso and de la Rosa - the Spanish will love it!
But then again, Lewis is from the F1 crazy Britain - no shortage of eager sponsors there....
I haven't really answered your question, have I? Well, I don't think anybody knows at the moment (Ron, Pedro and Lewis included).

I think it will be Hamilton as he has been 'sponsored' by Mclaren for some time now (since he was 12).

Mclaren have also said they will not capitalise on him being of west indian origin, and am sure they would not have said this if he was not going to sign for them.

I think these rumours would not have started if De La Rosa was going to stay on at Mclaren.

I think it will be either Lewis Hamilton or Pedro De La Rossa. I think the smart money would be on Pedro. Although Lewis has had significant success at GP2 I think Ron Dennis would be a little aprehensive about putting a young driver unproven at Formula 1 in one of his cars. Look at how Jenson Button did at williams, and Nico Rosberg ( a former GP2 champion) did in their first seasons. I think he will go for a more experienced driver, at least for this season.

it will either be Lewis Hamilton or Pedro de la Rosa but there has been a bit of speculation that Mika hakkinen is coming back but i ad-out that. no i presume it will be Pedro because he has more experience. but we will only know when mclaren tell us as they have not said yet.

Can't remember his first name, but his surname is Hamleton, I reckon that he will get the drive alongside Alonso
