If I were you and I planned on telling the boss about this co-worker, maybe you should call your boss on the phone. The co-worker would not see you tell the boss. If you are afraid of him maybe you should tell your parents or a close friend, so they can help you if need be. Can you stomach to eat the food now that you seen your co-worker do this? I wouldn't want to eat it, and I sure wouldn't want any of my family to eat it. You don't know if this person has any disease or not either! I'm sure you wouldn't want to catch Aids. This is a harmful thing to many people and should be reported. I have heard of these things many times. People like your co-worker doesn't have any respect for anyone else.

Have others seen him doing the same thing? It's probably difficult to ask other employees for fear they might side with him, but someone like that might be the disgruntled worker and you may find that others have seen and are afraid of the same thing. Remember, there is strength in numbers. Make sure who you question will stick with you. Tell "all" of the managers/bosses (as long as he is not close or family to them) and let the bosses catch him. Chances are that he will spit in the food at the same place/time/area every time. Tell that to the bosses and let them take it from there. If you are a good employee, they will do their damnest to stop this. Or it's their butt on the line.

Before you do this ask yourself this question. Did the customer deserve it? The first rule of the restaurant business is don't mess with the people who handle your food. I don't know why people think it is a good idea to do that. Now if your coworker was just doing it for kicks that is another story. If that is the case an anonymous letter to your boss should do the trick.

If you work for a marjor corporation, you will have protection from the head of the office. Your boss should be told. Also, make sure that you tell your parents, and, your boyfriend, if you have one. If you have a boyfriend, he should meet you at work every day and take you home.
Tell your boss that you were threatened, unfortunately, you don't have proof of him spitting in the food.

Go to the boss when he's not around and tell him just what you saw and what your co-worker said if you told on him. You could get your co-worker on harrasing you in the work place but you need to go to your boss and let him know what's happening and he can help you from there.

Tell the boss what you saw, AND that he threatened you. Spitting in food isn't more than just gross, it's dangerous to peoples health. He could spread any number of nasty diseases that way.

As a former member of the food service industry, I can tell you that some people deserve spit in their food. Some people are real buttholes who have no decency or respect for working people. They think that they are somehow about the average restaurant worker and that this gives them the right to be *****: not so. These people need to learn that the last person on earth you want to mess with is the people who prepare your food. I think next time you should stop thinking about snitching and start spitting yourself. C'mon...you know you want to.
