I read on a website there was no civil ceremony - it was just a Scientology ceremony so it's not really legal.

To get married, all a couple needs is a marriage license and maybe follow some other laws (some states require blood tests). The ceremony doesn't mean a thing.

The legalities of a marriage are only in the paperwork, not the ceremony. If the papers are legit, so is the marriage. Poor Katie; she did, however, go in to this with her 'Eyes Wide Shut.'

You don't need a ceremony to be legally married. Technically, all they really have to do is mail the signed affadavits and what not back to the state to be legally married.

who cares? honestly. But you do have to have a ceremony to be married. It may not be the whole wedding dress and church thing but you have to say all of the crap and your I-dos even if it's just at a court house-at least in the state of Ohio.

when they refer to Scientology ceremony - it's just like saying a Catholic ceremony or Jewish ceremony - it's still legal if there's a license.
