Yes there is a meteor shower tonight, I live in CDT america too. The only bad part is, its supposed to be at 4:45am sunday morning, so, I guess its really not tonight. But anywho, its is at about 4:45am and will last like 2 hours.

Yes, it's the Leonid Meteor shower. Visible all night, but best viewing is just before sunrise.

supposed to start eastern time at 11:45 - maybe peak at that time
should be SPECTACULAR - get a lawn chair and a hot cup of chocolate
