start button, click run, type cmd.
Then type ipconfig

goto start then, run then type in cmd. You should get a black command window. type ipconfig /all look for ip address,
subnet mask, default gateway and dns. write them down.
colse command window. Next goto my network places in xp then properties find your local area connection right click goto properties then scroll down to TCP/IP check if your set to obtain automatically or is it set that might be your problem.
