It's fine to cut your hair while pregnant. Some people strongly discourage dying your hair while pregnant or doing any chemical treatments as there are no firm studies on what the toxins can do. But cutting your hair is fine, it's just like cutting your toenails.

Cutting your hair will absolutely not hurt you or the baby. Hair that you can see is dead. You can't hurt it and it can't hurt you. It will make you feel good to spruce up a bit.
Most places, (who have any sense) and by law won't, dye your hair during your pregnancy. Tips or highlights that don't touch your scalp are generally considered safe. Check with your doctor first before trying anything with chemicals. It's playing it on the safe side, but who wouldn't want to when you're talking about your baby's health?
Otherwise, treat yourself.

Matter of fact it is said that most women cut thier hair short when they get pregnant. :) Unless there is some superstition you believe in you are fine. Chop away. There is nothing scientific that will happen to you or the baby when you cut the dead hair. It will help it look healthier- and that is always a plus.
If you believe it is bad luck- then Stick with your belief system and wait till after you deliver. I have never heard of that before- but when people have superstitious beliefs- they usually prove true just because you believe in them. Now isnt a time to test fate, you know?

How will cutting your hair do something to your baby? I've never heard such a thing in my life. Cutting you hair during pregnancy is the best time because it grows back faster. If you want to cut your hair, then go for it!

Of course you can cut your hair! The only "danger" in it may be that you do something drastic that you end up hating -- for example, you decide to cut your shoulder-length hair to above your ears, then discover that your pregnancy has made your face kind of round and you hate the way the shorter style looks. Other than that, cut away!

What a ridiculous thing to say, your hair is dead cells...it has absolutlely no effect on your pregnancy or body for that matter. I can't even fathom why anyone would even think such a thing. They do say hair color could be potentially dangerous, mainly during the first trimester, because they use chemicals and they can get in our blood stream. I have had my hair colored with all 4 of my children...so I do not see proof of the danger but if you wnated to take that precaution it would be understandable. But please don't htink twice about a hair cut.

Cutting your hair while pregnant, does nothing to the baby. I am thinking that your mother just doesn't want you to cut your hair at all.

I have never heard of this. I am a mother of 4 and got regular hair cuts when I was pregnant. But I have been told don't color your hair or get a perm because of the chemicals. Good luck.

It is fine to cut your hair. You probably would not want to have your hair permed or colored during pregnancy. Call your doctor to check about the chemical processing, just having it cut is fine.
