Wearing tampons & changing them every couple of hours. Also wear a pantyliner, too.

Use a combination. Sometimes when its really heavy at the beginning I use two tampons with a pad like a super tampon and a regular. Later I might just use a super and a pad with wings and by the end a regular or even a slim tampon and a thin pad or panty liner. You just have to find a good combination. For me, the thing that stopped the leaking at the beginning was using two tampons at once on the heaviest day(s). I buy combination boxes with three sized tampons.

If you're worried your tampon will leak, add a pantiliner, or a pad if you think the leak will be too much. Some tampons are better at preventing leaks than others, you could switch brands. I thought Tampax was best for protection, but I switched to an organic, no applicator brand because I wanted all natural. I sacrificed protection though.

It's all a thousand times better than when I got my first period back in 79!

If you use a tampon you should also use a panty liner with it. If you use pads only use ones with "wings" and change them very frequently.

*** i have to wear super tampons and a pad. change both often. i can't wear a tampon 5 min w/o it leaking thru, and it's not cause it needs changing that fast...just can't use one w/o the other.
