i am freaking out at the number of pple that just come and mess up the entire store. why do they do that?i mean, can't they tidy up a bit after taking what they want?

I used to manage a home decor store in the mall, a Cracker Barrel gift shop and a childrens clothing store.
People don't care, they don't care what their kids do.In all 3 stores, I've had dirty diapers left on displays, out in the parking lot, I even found poop wiped on clothes. And that is in addition to the mess you're talking about. I think everyone should have to work retail or some sort of customer service job before they graduate from college.

Try to remember that's why you're there. Yes, people could buy without a sales person, tell a cook what they want eat, and open their own doors.
But.. what would people do if their jobs as a salesman, waiter, or doorman went away?
I spoke to a school janitor (excuse me, custodian) this week about what a mess the boys in school made in one of the bathrooms. With a great spirit, proud and all, he said, "yup, and that's why I'm here! If it wasn't for them, they wouldn't need me."
Try to turn the situation around and think about how your bosses, who are paying you, determined that it's worth your salary-hours because, on average, customers who come in and nearly trash the place spend more than those that browse, never touch anything, and split.
What they're doing is part of the shopping experience, and at the end of the day, it's good for business.
So... get ready for the holiday season, and let the trashing begin!

I work in a retail store and OMG! I can not believe the nerve on some people. Leaving everything behind them a mess.Leaving the coffee cups behind and everything. Yup it ticks me off too!
