I lose one thing or another almost every day. Sometimes I lose the same thing repeatedly in the same day, sometimes in the same hour. Usually I manage to find what I lose, but there have been a couple of things that vanished in plain sight that I have never found, and it's been years. Once the stapler fell off the bed and when it hit the floor the spring thing that holds the staples in flew out. There was no place for it to go, but no matter how hard I looked I never could find it. Somewhere in this house there are a few hundred cubic feet of things, such as single socks, that have just disappeared. It is alomost as if I am living in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle.
