A vacuum cleaner works the best. But they do make a brush for ceiling fans that works good

I always get a ladder and use a wet cloth on the blades (of course it is turned off). By standing on the ladder and having a wet cloth, the dust 1) doesn't really fly around because it gets absorbed in the damp cloth and 2) can't really land on you because you are on a ladder beside it.

I don't think the swiffer things are all that good, the dust spreads.

You can go to home depot, or even walmart might have them, and get a dust thing that is made just for celing fans. It's oval shaped soft brush has a hole in the center for the blade to fit through to clean it easier!!! Good Luck and Happy Dusting!!

I almost always take off blades and wash good because of grease they collect. But you can wash off with greased lighting or 409.Also wipe down the motor houseing.Dont spray to much in fan openings.Best to spray rag and wipe.

try using a rag dampened with either water or furniture polish, or you could use a feather duster treated with furniture polish, that should do the trick for you.
