what is interesting to me, is that if we were born into a different culture, we could be completely different people. So our cultures shape our thinking very much, even though, unless you become aware of it, you may never realize how much. Its not an insult, don't worry. just interest me.

You are kind of right. Our beliefs and personality are determined in where are we raised, what kind of parents we have, the political climate of our region. The culture and religion has shape the way we feel and think about social issues. This leads to action which therefore determines how our life will be like. I was raised in a pretty nothern blue state. My parens are Democrats and I grew up in a hispanic neighborhood so there was a lot of Democratic support. I also think that being Hispanic and Catholic has shaped the way I look at life which may determined how I act. So in an indirect way, our family and region determines our actions which will lead to how we control our lives.

Life is about choices, you make the choice and soon find out if it was a good one or a bad one, but its your life, you have the free will to be what ever type of person you wish, being born here just makes your choices different than someone born elsewhere but no matter where you come into this world , you still chose how you will act and react

Not as much as we think we have. When we are growing up we are taught what to believe, how to act, and what and what not to do. Your friends, family and parents affect how you act and your interests and beliefs.

Take this simple test to see how much control over your life: if a guy shoots you in the head, what happens? You die or are horribly maimed. You don't say "hell no" and your forhead deflects the bullet. You do not have complete control of your life. You can shoot or stab the person that's about to shoot you, but if they are faster then you, they decide if you live or die. If you kill someone and then the judge or jury decides if you live or die.

You don't have as much control over your life as you think you do. Other people decide if you get a job or go to college. You can work harder to better your odds but ultimatly, it's their choice.
No one has complete control of their life. Those without power are controlled by those in power, those with power are caught in the trappings of it.

You are completely in control of your life. Whatever decisions and actions you do are all of your own, unless you let someone else make your decisions and whatever acts you do. Then it, also, is your own control and decision.
