Have you ever almost died?

Question

How and when? I almost got shot about 4 times, I almost died after birth, and I almost fell out of a roller coaster once.

I almost died when I had a blood clot operation a few years back, on the operating table, that was an experience I will never forget. Ever since then I have not feared death because I felt peaceful when it happened, not that I want to die now, but when it is my time I don't have fear and I will be with my family and friends. :)

You certainly have had some bad luck!
When I was born, my parent's were told that I wouldn't live more then a few days. I couldn't breathe on my own and this was back in 1974 when it was rare that baby's could pull through something so horrible! But I did, and after a month in the hospital, they brought me home. And then when I was 22 and married to my first husband, who was an abusive idiot, he beat me up severely and it landed me in ICU in a coma with a serious head injury, and they never thought I would pull through. But again, I did and am doing great now.......And he spent time in jail!
I defiantly appreciate life much more.

I almost died being born, and I nearly died after having open heart surgery in 2001.

Also, in 1974 I was in an auto accident where, as a passenger, if I had not been wearing my seat belt, I would have been killed, like the driver next to me was.

Two times come to mind.

The first time I was in the Navy. I was at sea on the USS Forestall and it was at night. I had to crawl up a ladder on the weather deck. I grabbed a hold of a railing and used it to pull myself up and it snapped off! I almost lost my balance and fell. I could have been lost at sea.

The other time was just this past summer. A speeding Yankee Gas natural gas truck failed to yeild and almost crashed into my car.

You could have heard that explosion from where you are it would have been so big!

Yes, Thursday when i was at school, there was an F2 torndao, right across the street from my school. Parts of the roof where torn off, and we lost many things. Everyone was crying (including me). At one point, I looked up through a hole in the roof, and saw it. This greenish-blackish tornado. It was going right over the school, and I could see all these things flying around in it. (TV's from the classrooms, sports equipment from the gym, etc.) I let out a sob, and just saw my whole life flash through my mind. I honestly thought we were going to die. Luckily, the next day, we were still able so go to school, but that day will always be a nightmare in my mind.

yes, someone choked me once, not long ago actually, and i felt real peaceful and quiet, i couldn't move and i felt myself falling asleep and drifting out of consciousness, the next morning, i was shocked when i realized if it lasted any longewr maybe i would have died... i've been in two car accidents, and one i ran two miles from it because i didnt want to be put in an ambulance, and the other we rolled and rolled but all i got was a sore shoulder. on the highway a couple of months ago, there was a mattress in the next lane and it caught this trucks back wheels, the guy lost control and jumped 3 lanes to the right... he didnt hit anyone just the partition... we stopped for him, but if he HAD hit someone we woulda got hit, and then who knows after that... i believe in angels!

I spent 3 days on the critical list in the hospital, and I got shot at 5 times. I guess that counts.

i almost fell out of a roller coaster to the only thing that stopd me from falling out was my mom holding me in and we were up side down at that i was scared and never wanted to go on anouther roller coaster that went up side down agian but i did about 2 years ago and i luv it thats scary stuff man

I almost died in a car accident. The police said if i was hit an inch to the left, i would have died... *edit*- Sorry, i meant a foot to the left. My bad.

WOW! I hope you're thanking God that you're still living! I got in a car accident once, and just walked away from it just fine. Actually i crawled out the window cause we landed on our top. But by the looks of the car, we should have been a lot worse off. Thank God for his mercy!!
