Well as for not liking the food that is personal prefrence. If they don't like it, they shouldn't go there or waste their time complaining. As for labeling as "scum", people who judge others like that are scum themselves. For the most part they are just people with low self confidence and have to make themselves feel superior some how so they think putting others down is the way to do it. SOMEBODY has to feed their lazy selves, so they need to stop judging because the majority of the people who make comments like that probably coudnt handle the job if they tried.

I think that McDonald's is more or less like other fast food chains, but it is the biggest and most successful and, therefore, most visible fast food chain, so it takes the most heat. Also, along with it's major success comes major power, and the business execs at the top of the company have been caught doing a lot of sneaky and not very ethical marketing maneuvers, in order to stay at the top.

As far as the workers, I don't think that the general public views them as "scum," but I think that the job positions that they occupy are not viewed very favorably, because they require minimal skill are do not pay very well. So, the individuals that occupy those positions do not get a lot of respect.

Why people don't like McDonald's is their own logic I guess. It's obvious that they're not going anywhere anytime soon. I would never think of anyone as scum. And yeah, I'd think it's like any other fast food restaurant. Since McDonald's is a billion dollar business, ofcourse they will be singled out and attacked.

I stereotype all teenage kids working in fast food as scum, not just McDonalds because I knew the kids who worked there when I was a teen, and the things they told me they were terrible, funny at the time, but terrible upon reflection
