yes and no, i have been using it since it came out about six years ago. i download alot of porn and music (15-40 gigs) movies and what not, i usually have to wipe my hd every six months or so because i accadentaly download some "mislabled" spy ware . if you just keep a look out for weard file tipes e.g. not mp3, mpeg, or jpg. then you will be fine. i think that it is a prutty good trade off about thirty minuts of reprogramming for six months of free ****. and they are only looking for the people that put the stuff on there not download it, so when you install it and it askes if it can look for files on your computer tell it no.
this is all i can thank of right now hope it helps
p.s. make shure that you get it from the website www.limewire.com otherwise you could end up getting screwed. if you need help or anything you can email me mhallday1@yahoo.com

I assume you mean Limewire, the P2P player network. Yes, it is quite legal and possesses no viral problems or spy problems either. I have had Limewire Pro for 2 years now and get all the songs, movies, pictures, programs etc. that I want. It cost some $18.00 for the Pro version which provides Turbo-charging while the free version does not, thus allowing faster downloads.

It's not legal and you could get viruses if you don't have a good antivirus program installed on your computer. Here you have some free antivirus software:

Limewire itself is legal, just like driving a car.
If you use limewire to do something illegal like stealing music, you are just as guilty as robbing a bank. It dont matter if you used something legal to do an illegal act, you are still guilty.
The virus are from your fellow limewire future cellmates (couldnt resist - lol) that want to spread a little holiday cheer!

if you pirate its not legal .. but then again nothing is these days they want to regulate how many times you take a crap a day ... but yeah, limewire is a good way to infect ur pc unless you know what ur doing and are experienced in p2p ... personnally i would use bittorrent and go to isohunt .. much safer ...

wouldn't touch it with a barge pole....why do you want to open up your computer to the outside world...just making it easier for hackers....its also known to give you adware and spyware...also don't know if its legal or not theres a legal debate going on about right now....my advice is don't touch any P2P(peer to peer) software....its nothing but hassle
