Yes an no. 5 years ago I was 22, single, living in my aunt's basement in Calgary, working as a security guard, smoking weed every day, boozing on the weekends, and trying to get some girl at work to notice me.
Now, I'm 27, been with the same girl for over 4 years, have an 18-month old son, live in Regina, haven't touched weed in 3 years, work as a warehouse manager for an office furniture place, and still drink beer. I'm older, a little wiser, but sometimes still long for the carefree days of 2001.
It's funny how the past always seems better when it's in the rearview mirror. 5 years ago I wasn't as happy as I am now. It just seems now that I was.

Oh yes, five years ago I was in the whole 9/11 mess, living there and all and that point in time I have a lot of personal issues so yeah I like myself a lot right now.

Yes, I'd like to believe I have. I've grown into a mindset and made some dreams manifest, which makes me very happy, which is something I didn't feel 5 years ago.

I absolutely do! I have done a lot of soul searching, growing and moving in the past 5 years, and I really like the direction I am headed and the place I am in, at this moment. I have grown in confidence and feel that everyday has something beautiful to offer. Thanks for helping me verbalize this and really see how far I've come! Thanks!

I sure do. 5-6 years ago was one one the darkest times in my life, and I really didn't care if I lived or died. Thanks to a lifestyle change and modern medicine, I am about as normal as I'll ever be.
Good question, and thanks for asking.
