Me And My Bf Have An Iguana And Recently He Hasn't Been Going To The Bathroom In His Cage We Did Modify It To Make It Bigger For Him To Move In He Eats,But He Will Not Go To The Bathroom In It. When We Let Him Out To Walk Around The Livingroom He Will Go On The Curtian's And Do His Business,Is There Something Wrong? Or Is He Just Being Bad And Acting Out?

I had the same problem with my iguana Sampson. He would use the bathroom all over my house. We did what you did. We expanded his cage and he wasn't use to having a new inviroment. Once we kept him in there for a while then he started to use the bathroom in his cage. It just sucked a little cause while he was out of his cage he grew another foot. That is why it is important to keep in half in his cage and the other half to just let him have some space in the house to walk around. If him being out of his cage is the only time he goes to the bathroom then confine him to one area. He will grow bigger but at least he will only go in a certian spot. Ours to this day goes in his cage but once in a blue moon he will poop on the floor if he is left out to long. I hope this advice helps out a little. Good luck. And they make awesome pets.

i'm going for the duration of the comparable ingredient besides. There are some great recommendations on the information superhighway. i would be custom construction a cage to slot interior the corner of my front room. i'm making plans 5x5x6 ft tall. I stay in a chilly dry climate, so i would be construction in a humidifier and the front would be mesh with a plexiglass conceal for the chilly season. i will objective to make it look fairly extreme high quality, like a show case, with a jungle painted history, yet I could desire to make it undemanding to bathe and nicely ventilated too. i could like it to look organic interior, like the smaller cage I even have now. For hiking, i offered some %tubing (2 a million/2" dia) and fastened sisal rope around it and this works fairly nicely for exercis and a basking spot. look under photographs on the information superhighway, for various great recommendations and then adapt them.

Was he poopin in his cage before? What did you change when you modified it that may be causing the problem?

I probive my Iguana with a sink filled with water. It is instinctual for Iguanas to poop in water and actually makes clean up easier. http://stembol.com/Pets/iguanacage.htm

I think he sees his cage as his den/home and he doesn't want to make it dirty. Can you find a piece of material like your curtians you can put into his cage, maybe make him a little bathroom to help? Maybe his cage is still too small for him?

doyou have water in the cage.. not small amount like maybe 2-3 quarts of water kind of like a swimming pool... thats where my iguannas go to the bathroom .. nowhere else but there... try putting a large bowl preferable shallow but large and putting water in it...

It is very simple to potty train an iguanna, well bathtub train them, as well they get HUGE! Iguannas, love to go potty in the watter, and its very easy to wash down the drain when its fresh. Offer a kitty litter box half full of water for him to soak in and he will potty in it almost every time, once you gently place him in it the first time without scareing him!
