My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex about a week and a half ago. I took the Plan B pill the next day, in hopes of preventing a pregnancy, as I am a student in college, and can't afford that responsibility right now. Plan B comes in two tablet doses, and I was told by a pharmacist to take the first dose, and then wait 12 hours to take the second tablet. I completely forget about the second dose until the next morning, which was about 16 hours later. I was told by Planned Parenthood that the pill should still be effective. Now, about a week and a half later, I'm experiencing some stomach pain (very similar to pre-menstrual cramps) and have actually bled a little bit, but this seems to occur only when I urinate. And I've had a little bit of spotting as well. I know that Plan B is supposed to throw off menstruation, so is all of this normal? Will I be getting my period soon, because of the blood and mild stomach pain? I'm very worried and don't know what to do. Please help!

You're experience extremely normal Plan B side effects. Cramping and spotting are some for the most common side effects. They will go away in time. Take what you normally take for cramps, and that might help.
Plan B does throw off your normal cycle.

I have had to use this... as I am also in college and would not fare well with children at this point in my life. Plan B totally threw off my period... took about 2 cycles to get regular again. I also had spotting and things like you are saying. Take a pregnancy test to be sure and you will just have to wait until the spotting and cramps clear up. Try to get on birth control if you are not already. Planned parenthood offers discounts to students so its only like 18 dollars a month, and university health centers sometimes offer birth control if they are not religiously affiliated. Good luck!

It is normal for plan B to mess up your cycle. It may even take 2-3 months to get back on schedule. You may even have some spotting on and off that month. If I were you see about getting on BC of some kind to put your mind at ease. I would guess you are not pregnant and have nothing to worry about.

take some Aleve....and relax. These symptoms will blow over, and your cycle will return to normal.

And next time your boyfriend wants to have unprotected intercourse, just remember all the good times you just had.
