I read recently that we are seeing it as early as 5 and 6. It's considered a problem and the kids are given some meds to suppress pituitary function, but they really don't think they help. It is hypothesized that the growth hormones in our food supply (mostly animal based foods, but some plant too) might be having a growth stimulating effect on some kids.

Depending on the geographical area and Climate it may wary. Though it occurs usually between 12 to 14 yrs in warm temperate climates like India it occurs even at the age of 10.

In Africa as low as 8 years, as the record says taht an African girl became mother at the age of 9. In colder region it is higher.

Every girl is different. I know girls that started when they were 9 & 10. most start around 13 but it does depent on the individual and their circumstances.

i started in the 4th grade, but it can happen at any age. It depens on how active the girl is. Lots of exercise, and activity can lead to early periods.
