I've been to Hannover (north of Frankfurt) for a tech trade show, and while there I visited Celle, Benningsen, Munich, and Hamlin. It's nice, but the people are hard to fathom. The German culture is a little tough for Americans to understand at first. You should talk to a few people who lived there for a while before you make a decision. Good luck.

Yes, I have been there twice in my lifetime so far. To Berlin, Frankfort and Dusseldorf. I also took a boat trip up the Rhine. It is a beautiful country with very friendly people who are, as you know, quite intelligent in business and efficiency. The Black Forest is too wonderful for words to describe and the many castles are gorgeous.

(The auxhilary marks the tense in a question ;o))

Haha...

Yeah, I've visted Germany five or six times and everytime it was so much fun - the people are so friendly and nice - oh and the beer's awesome too! Hehe...

I lived in Berlin for five years. I was there November 9th 1989 when the wall came down. It is a beautiful country with great people and I sometimes wish i could go back for a visit. i had a blast there and it is well worth the visit.

I haven't but my brother did in 1981, he spent three months around Lubeck learning the language and the culture and he loved it. Even today, he has to have a German channel on his TV cable service. Sometimes when we speak on the phone we like to compare english and german, so you know we are French. So, he made me like Germany and its people.

I've been to Frankfurt, Darmstadt, and Heidelberg. Frankfurt has all sorts of international food, historic buildings, shopping, and clubs. Darmstadt was kindof a dreary, industrial-feeling town with a university. And Heidelberg was very pretty - I would recommend seeing the castle there!

i've been to germany numerous times [my family is originally from their and most of my relatives live there] and i've enjoyed it immensely. it's a really great country and for the most part people are really nice and courteous. i'd definitely recommend going to the smaller cities as well as berlin.
