she wanted to be a circus star and her dad helped her and then she moved away and she never saw him again.... i am telling the truth i know it sounds really dumb!

Basically i think if you listen to the lyrics, its about her losing someone and her not having a chance to say sorry and set things right before it was too late

The song replaced into not written by Christina, it replaced into honestly written by somebody else. So, she isn't singing about her father, besides the undeniable fact that the video might want to have you ever trust that. it will be that the author of the song is talking to her father, yet Christina is definately not singing it to her father, I do trust he remains alive!

OK. Shes singing about losing, I'm pretty sure her father, after he abused her as a child and she never really got to forgive him. Thats what happens in the video too. You see them together at the circus, then at home practicing tightrope walking, then she becomes a tightrope walker, then she gets the telegram that says her father has died and she gets upset because she never got to say goodbye or forgive him for abusing her. I'm pretty sure. I heard that she was abused as a child and I'm just putting pieces together.
