Multiple reasons could be a factor, or any single one of the following items are of consideration:
bad memory,
hot cpu,
HD going bad,
faulty video card,
virus, trojan, worm, spyware, or malware.

i would start with the following programs first.
winpatrol,
crap cleaner,
regseeker,
each of these programs will help greatly cleaning up the system, if used to there fullest extent. Install them and run them and then reboot your system and see if you have some improvement.

Next, install AVG and Avast, as anti-virus programs which will detect any viruses and trojans. Then, install Spybot, AVG anti-spyware, Super Antispyware, and Zerospyware, to get rid of any problems in that area.

If after all this, you still have a problem, it may be hardware. Likely the memory or HD.

Good Luck,
randy

When you have many programs that start during startup much of the memory is used. Having a lot of programs running simultaneously on the computer is one of the reasons of freezing. There are a few ways such as deleting temperory files, cleaning registry, removing some programs from the startup list, using a general purpose cleaning program as ccleaner are some of the things you can do to make your pc work properly.

You might need to clean it up. You can go to windows, Start, Search for disk clean, use the one that has a little sweep broom and tell it to clean, check all the boxes, mainly temporary Internet files and delete them. Then you can find disk defrag and do it. It might take a while if there are a lot of files. Do this and it will help your computer. You can find disk defrag the same as disk clean. It is the one that has colors that come apart at the top.

One of the reasons is because you simply download too much stuff. Try shedding some of it. The poor thing is ghasping for breath. Haven't you ever wanted to stop cold and catch your breath when you have been running hard? Well your poor computer is trying to catch its breath because of all the stuff that is inside it. Trim-the-chaff time. When you are wide awake and alert, just take a look at some of that stuff you have on it right now that you are so over with it defies words. Junk-be-gone!

You might have a virus - get a good free checker like AVG (www.grisoft.com). Spyware might also slow your computer down and you can download a free checker from www.lavasoft.com, which will quarantine any it finds. Defragment your system by clicking on your Start menu, then going to Accessories and clicking on System Tools. Lastly, (or first, whichever you prefer!) delete any temporary internet files and cookies. Hopefully, that'll get your system moving again.

Stop watching porn. Is your PC old? Pentium 3 or 2? Viruses and spyware can make it happen. Defragment your hard disk and clean your hard drive. This should work. If not go to geeksquad.com and have it checked by a pro.
