In 1980, John Murtha, Democrat Congressman from Pennsylvania was mixed up in the ABSCAM scandal and was caught on video tape nearly accepting a bribe. His exact words were, "I'm not interested...at this point. (If) we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't..."
Mr. Murtha was never fully investigated because Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill shut down the investigation before the prosecutor could bring an indictment.
I bet you never heard this from the mainstream press, so here is the info:

Same as I answered your similar questions. They won't tell us any more than the alternative media forces them to.

It'll all come out when Abramoff testifies. he said he's going to rat out the 7 most corrupt politicians in government and they're all Democrats so you have to expect Murtha and Dirty Harry are involved.

No way, you have to be a Republican to get the media to bring out every bit of dirt they can dig up, make up, twist around, and outright lie about! I thank-you for the sites, I've bookmarked them cause I'm always searching for the truth. Accuracy in the Media with Cliff Kincaid us a good source also. Thanks again!

Yes, they are covering it up just like his brother-in law, the lobbyist receiving millions of appropriation money.

It was all over the news this week!

Everyone knows he almost accepted a bribe. That's why he lost this week in his bid to get more power.

Give me a break...the mainstream press covered this all of last week and thoroughly covered it when it happened TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO...if this is the best you got, it says a lot about why the Dems are now in power...

??? They already did! But will the House Ethics Committee ever conduct their full scale investigation on the Foley scandal? Didn't think so.

It's been touched on. Both in "alternative" and mainstream media.

How about that Plamegate? Wonder what Mark Foley thinks of it all...I hear he might have to share a cell with Jack Abramoff...

OOPS! Sorry! Wasn't supposed to touch on anything recent/conservative, was I?

I have heard this and seen the video. The statement he made was non incriminating and he never took a dime. Let it go, we all did back then otherwise he would not be a Congressman now.

"Almost did something wrong 25 years ago"

Almost ain't is.

Maybe you need to consider what YOUR definition of "is" is.
