My daughter has cerebral palsy and no swallow refle so she spits on herself constantly. The doctor told us to use lanolin or diaper rash cream on her face to keep it sealed so the spit wont do any more damage. As for the rash that is already there it will just have to heal, the diaper cream might help that a bit though. Also try a plastic backed bib that helps a lot. Good luck!!

When you change his bib, also wash his face off gently with a washcloth rinsed in water and baby bath. Then rinse the cloth out with clear water and wash his face off again. Use only the little soft knit type wash cloths so his skin will not become more irritated. You could also use a little hydrocortisone cream on the rash and cover with diaper oint. Give him a big kiss from me.

Try QV cream, it worked wonders for my daughter, it is also available in a bath oil and face/body wash. Available at most chemists, just ask a member of staff for it. The bath oil especially works well as it leaves a protective layer on babies skin. Was recomended to me by a skin specialist.

I've heard that if you put petroleum jelly on his chin and neck that it's supposed to create a barrier to protect the skin from the saliva. I haven't tried it though but I hope this helps! Good luck!

Poor baby... ask the pediatrician if there is a certain ointment to use that is best.
In the meantime, I'd try A and D Ointment, use a thin layer right after the skin is clean and dry.

My son has that problem. His doctor just told me to wipe his chin often. He hasn't had a problem in a few weeks. Also we got him a pacifier that's designed specially to prevent that from happening.

dry his face and rub a small amount of Vaseline on his cheeks and chin this helps create a barrier. I know it sounds odd but it works.I did it with both my boys.

You might not want to use the corn starch, because if he has a yeast rash it could make it worse.
