Color movies got off the drawing board and began inception in 1938 with several films to be released in the great release year of 1939 with such classics as Gone with The Wind, The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn. The form was known as Technicolor.

Films in colour have been around as long as there have been movies! In the early years, many were tinted frame-by-frame by hand---later, whole sequences were tinted for mood or time of day; by the mid-1920's some films or sequences in films were shown in a two-strip Technicolor process, that reproduced a partial palette of colours- -finally, in or around 1932, true Technicolor was achieved, that could reproduce the full spectrum of colours.
